S’more Mugcake

Michigan “springs” leave a lot to be desired. I’m longing for warm and slightly drier days, in the face of a snow and ice storm tomorrow…

I decided to pull out my standby night time snack Chocolate Mug Cake but add a summery twist.

It totally hit the spot. The marshmallow was warm and gooey, the milk chocolate bar added that creamy chocolate love and grahm crackers added just the right touch to take me to the bonfire.


Heres what I did:

S’more Mug Cake

1 standard coffee mug

3 tablespoons flour

3 teaspoons brown sugar (white works too)

3 teaspoons cocoa powder

dash of salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Mix all these together in the mug. Then add:

1 tablespoon vegetable oil or melted butter

3 tablespoons milk

1/4 tsp vanilla (optional)

Mix well with flour mixture.

Push 2 small rectangles of milk chocolate bar (I used Hershey’s) into the batter and top with a large marshmallow.  If you want softer graham cracker pieces crush 1/2 of a graham cracker on the top now, if you want it crisp add after microwaving.

Microwave on full heat for about 1 minute 10 seconds. If additional time is needed microwave at 5 second intervals. Allow to cool for a couple minutes and enjoy!!
